LEAD Journal


The Law, Environment and Development Journal (LEAD Journal) is a peer-reviewed academic publication based in New Delhi and London and jointly managed by the School of Law of the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) - University of London and the International Environmental Law Research Centre (IELRC).

It is published online on the LEAD Journal website.

Call for Submissions

The editors of the LEAD Journal invite original, unpublished manuscripts in the form of long or short Articles, Notes, Comments, and Book Reviews in the field of international and regional environmental law, and domestic environmental laws of developing countries.


LEAD Journal adopts a broad view of the environment and also solicits writings,

which examine the links between the environment and related concerns, such as human rights, poverty or trade.


LEAD Journal encourages scholarship, which combine theoretical and practical approaches to the study of environmental law and practice.
